SASV is southern Africa's first and only virology society. SASV was established in May 2024 and welcomed as a new FIDSSA member society during the FIDSSA AGM held on 31 May 2024.


MISSION

To advance the science of virology in Southern Africa, by promoting research, education and excellence in virology, encompassing all scientists and practitioners working in the fields of medical virology (virological pathology), veterinary virology, plant virology, environmental virology, One Health, basic virology and any other virological sciences, thereby contributing to the understanding and control of viral infections and diseases
